From a chance encounter to our happily ever after.
Kenyatta and India met at a Cinco de Mayo Game Night at the TrapHouse Museum in 2021. There was an instant attraction, plenty in common, and (if you ask Kenny) some very mutual interest. If you ask India, he spent the night following her around the museum! Either way, numbers were exchanged, and a date for drinks was set just two days later.
There was only one small problem: neither of them could quite remember what the other looked like. So, on their first date, Kenny kept his eyes on the door waiting for India to arrive, while India scanned the bar looking for him. Once they finally found each other, the conversation flowed for hours. They lost track of time, discovered just how much they had in common, and left feeling like they had known each other far longer than they actually had. They haven't stopped hanging out since!
The Big Surprise
Kenny's greatest surprise came on India's 40th birthday. What India thought was a birthday dinner was actually the culmination of a year of secret planning. Kenny had gathered family and friends from all over the country for a surprise birthday celebration, and unbeknownst to everyone, he had one more surprise up his sleeve.
In the middle of the celebration, Kenny delivered an emotional speech and asked India to marry him. There wasn't a dry eye in the room. Kenny got teary-eyed, friends were crying, and India was left completely surprised, overwhelmed, and a little shy in the sweetest possible way. It was a moment filled with so much love that neither of them will ever forget.
Just one month later, they made it official in an intimate courthouse ceremony, with India's sister serving as their officiant. Married life was officially underway!
A Love Built on Friendship
Together, Kenny and India are the perfect balance. Kenny brings youthful energy and discipline, while India brings warmth and a knack for overpreparing for just about everything. They work hard, support each other's ambitions, and make room to enjoy the life they're building together.
During the week, they're focused on their careers, goals, and routines. When the weekend arrives, it's time for date nights, family and friends, travel, and discovering their next favorite cocktail bar, rooftop, or restaurant. They're F1 watch-party regulars, nightly Jeopardy! watchers, video game partners, and fans of sports and mobster documentaries. Kenny is also patiently teaching India football in hopes of turning her into a loyal Detroit Lions fan. (He's working on it!)
But what makes their relationship truly special is the friendship at its center. They're the couple who make sure everyone feels included, comfortable, and ready for a good time. Their friends know that hanging out with Kenny and India means laughter, thoughtful planning, and memories worth making.
Their marriage is built on friendship, shared dreams, a love for the finer things in life, and the belief that life is better when you have your favorite person by your side.

They've already said “I do,” but the celebration is just beginning! Now, Kenyatta and India are excited to exchange vows surrounded by the people they love most and celebrate the journey that brought them here.
